Description

Silway 749 is a solventless silicone concentrate that is based on a mixture of silane and siloxane.
Dilute solutions of Silway 749 in organic solvents serve as high-quality general-purpose water repellents for impregnating and priming mineral and highly alkaline substrates.
Silway 749 is suitable for imparting water repellency to absorbent, porous, mineral construction materials and etc.

After application to the mineral substrate,Silway 749 reacts with the atmospheric moisture or pore water in the substrate,thereby generating the active ingredient while liberating alcohol. The active ingredient greatly lowers the water absorbency of the substrate, which nevertheless retains a very high degree of water vapour permeability since neither pores nor capillaries are clogged.

Silway 749 is also suitable as primer for exterior paints.

Usage

•Surface must be clean, dry and free of contaminants before construction.

• Dilute Silway 749 with organic solvent such as ethanol, isopropanol or petroleum solvent.To prevent or reduce the harm to the operator and environment, please avoid using solvents like Methanol, Benzene and Chlorinated solvents. Solvents with boiling point range from 140-190。C and flash point higher than 40。C are more recommended. If the above-mentioned solvents are used,Silway 749 should be diluted in a weight ratio of 1:9 to 1:15. For slightly damp substrates, Petroleum hydrocarbon solvent is better than alcohols.

• Spray or brush diluted solution twice or more on substrates, or impregnate substrates into diluted solution for few  minutes. If spray or brush method applied,the reconstruction should be taken only after the former coating is dry. Fully cured treated substrate for few days under room temperature, a high temperature would be helpful to accelerate the reaction. Better to do a water bsorption test after 24 hours.
