Core advantages of silicone oil as a release agent (common features)

The molecular structure of silicone oil (polysiloxane) features a Si-O main chain with organic groups attached to the side chains. This structure endows it with low surface tension (usually 20-25 mN/m, much lower than that of most materials such as resins and rubbers), enabling it to spread rapidly on the mold surface to form a uniform isolation film, thereby achieving efficient demolding. Meanwhile, silicone oil has extremely strong chemical stability and is inert to mold materials like metals, ceramics, and plastics, without causing corrosion to the molds.
Silicone oils suitable as release agents mainly include dimethyl silicone oil, methyl phenyl silicone oil, hydroxyl silicone oil, alkoxy silicone oil, long-chain alkyl silicone oil, polyether silicone oil, mercapto silicone oil, aminoalkyl silicone oil, etc.
